[INSIDE]
who you really are...
Personality: Faye can prickly, not always, but often. It’s a defensive measure more than anything else. She hates ignorance, and refuses to put up with it, and it’s not just the ignorance of the supernatural, its ignorance of anything really. Faye fully believes in learning new things, and she endeavors to learn something new every day. Faye doesn’t act her age, really….well…at all. She’s wise without meaning to be, often when people need it most, though she feels like she’s never wise enough to get her own life in order. Due to her old age, or what most people, blind to the supernatural would call old, Faye’s been through many experiences, and she loves sharing stories.
But a gypsy at heart, Faye can never stay in one place for long. She’s always lived this way, moving from town to town, seeing the world one city block at a time. She hates having her freedom threatened and she hates being tied down. She loves freely, often in very physical ways, but she refuses to love so much as that she gets stuck somewhere. Her freedom means everything to her in ways most people can’t imagine, but Faye hates to be held down in any way, whether physically, metaphorically, financially, anyway really.
Faye believes in the circle of life, and she believes that the earth itself is alive and sentient. She’s an organic vegan, and refuses to eat any living creature.
Humor is one of Faye’s most treasured assets, and surprisingly, she is actually very funny, but only when she doesn’t mean to be. She endeavors to find beauty in every single thing. She’s very tolerant of others, mostly. Remember, she doesn’t tolerate ignorance, but other religions, other beliefs, other skin colors, other cultures, Faye does her best to see the other side of everything else.
While Faye would like to say she’s a superbly loyal friend, she isn’t always, and she’s aware of that, and she tries to get over it. Due to her very flighty nature, if she’s hurt emotionally, it is more common for Faye to simply leave the situation than to stick up for herself. She’ll readily admit that she doesn’t defend herself all that well, but for others, or people she loves or considers friends, or – God forbid – an animal, she can kill.
Faye’s killed before, and she carries the weight that anyone would at the taking of a life. She often wonders if she truly regrets killing, and sometimes, to her horror, she finds that she doesn’t. This should not be taken as a weakness however, if she, or anyone she cares for, are threatened in a physical manner, Faye will not hesitate to bring every inch of her considerable magical might against her opponent.

History:
Faye never knew her mother, and from what she’s heard from her Grandmother, sometimes she counts that as a blessing. Born in California to a prostitute mother, Faye was soon orphaned when her mother died of disease when Faye was around 4 years old, but her grandmother took her in and raised her as her own, properly, and took extra care to make sure her granddaughter didn’t end up like her daughter, a wretch whoring herself out for just enough money for her next fix.
Faye grew up in a sort of easy life. Her grandmother was wealthy, a widow of a wealthy contractor, and she made sure Faye got the best education her money could buy for her. But beyond that, Faye was taught…other things, by her grandmother as well.
Eleanor often told Faye that the Summers family was descended from an ancient Gaulish tribe, that magic and fairies and witchcraft and the Goddess ran in their blood. And Faye believed her, because that’s what you do when you’re a child and the woman who’s raising you tells you something.
As her childhood began to pass, Faye also realized that the fairies weren’t coming from her, and that the Goddess was a silent one, but the magic and the witchcraft were real. Faye could wave her hand, and things would happen according to her will. She got used to this. It wasn’t until the 30’s rolled around, and Faye was about 25 that her grandmother had finally uncovered the spell she had been searching for.
Was it perfect immortality? No, and Faye always knew it wasn’t going to be perfect, but Faye and Eleanor underwent the ritual together. With bodies frozen in time, at least for now, the two women grew in power and knowledge. The time seemed to pass in a daze for Faye, everything blurred together in a whirl of mystical knowledge.
That all ended on July 8th, 1949, when her Eleanor was brutally murdered by a Vampire. He was an old Vampire, ancient by some standards, but Faye never saw his face, and was thus…unable to track him down. But the dream had ended, and Faye was thrown back into the real world.
She fled America, and thus began her journey of self discovery…sort of. From the bazaars of Morocco, to the street vendors of India. The tea shops of China, and the briny beaches of Greece. From staring down into Mount Vesuvius on Pompeii, to dining in the finest of Rio De Janeiro’s resturants, Faye walked the world, and soaked it all in.
She became well versed in languages, of other people’s customs and religions. She came to see the world…differently, in the most simple way it could be said. She stopped hating the Vampires for what they took away from her, and instead began to see them as…just another part of the beautiful world laid out before her.
More years passed, and Faye renewed her ritual, every All Hallows Eve, she would cast the spells, inscribe the runes, breathe the burnt herbs, and bind the spirits to keep her body young and youthful. But it was the 1980’s, when Faye finally returned to America, having lived the 60’s and 70’s in London, and blowing the last of the fortune her Grandmother left her. America was land of great opportunity right?
Though Faye was certainly loathe to leave England, she had taken up working her own new-age store near the world famous Borough Market, and naturally, being close to such a famous locale got her a lot of business, though not nearly enough to continue living in Europe. Packing up her stuff, she flew to New York City, hating the thought of going back to America, but…you go where the work is, right?
And then Faye met Darian, an artist living in New York City, and suddenly…money, magic, vampires…none of it all mattered anymore. Living out of the back of his truck, and travelling the U.S.A, Faye had never been happier. She loved Darian more than anything. But…eventually…things don’t stay fairytales forever. Faye eventually ended up pregnant, and due to their awful financial situation of having literally no money, Darian started hitting the bottle pretty hard with the small amount they could scrape up. It was counter-productive, and he knew it…but he also couldn’t stop. After a particularly nasty argument, he beat Faye…and he beat her bad within an inch of her life.
And Faye lost the baby…
And Faye also lost her mind somewhat. She killed Darian in her fit of rage and grief, and only what she learned after the love of her life lie dead at her feet, was that Darian was a human descendant of the Vampire that murdered her Grandmother.
Wrought with panic and fear and hatred and vengeance, Faye cast one of the strongest séances she could. She peered back into the past, through Darian’s dead unseeing eyes. She saw that the Vampire who murdered Eleanor had a family before that, had children, a wife. He had a life before he became what he was. He had everything Faye had wanted.
She saw the Vampire willingly give himself over to becoming one of the Undead, giving up his family, and his life. Faye thought it ironic that Darian would do practically the same thing, but in a different manner. Faye had never believed in that phrase ‘sins of the father’, but this seemed to cement it in for her.
Justice would be served, and Faye went all out attempting to find that Vampire, and after years of searching, she tracked him down all the way to Sao Paulo. She killed him too, though it was a nasty fight, one that Faye readily admits she barely survived. It took every scrap of power she had, but she did it. She killed him by disenchanting his Lapis Lazuli but only in a last ditch effort when she realized that her spells weren’t working so great. He died, turned to ash.
Faye got her life back together then…well sort of. She took out loans, put herself through college, than worked her ass off to pay off said loans, ending up with no money, but a degree in Philosophy and a degree in World Religion. Once again, deciding that she had had enough of being trapped down in one place for so long.
Faye used what little she had left, sold everything that wasn’t near and dear to her, bought herself a truck, and hit the road, determined to make her way in the world…somehow. She adapted to modern society quite quickly, learning how to use phones and computers, and she feels like she fits in now. Recently, having rolled into Mystic Falls due to all the supposed Vampire, Werewolf and Witch activity going on in the city, Faye’s decided maybe she can do some good, and maybe even make a few friends along the way.
